Jan Groover Photography Emulation

This was a project from my photography class where we had to pick a professional photographer and then emulate their style in our own photographs. For my work I had picked the artist Jan Groover, who is known for a warm lighting style and a very colorful image with soft edges.

For the first image I had to do some very creative problem solving to get the warm lighting. I ended up placing my subject in the oven and used the warm oven light to get the image that I wanted. I wanted a complimentary color scheme for this image, hence the red and green items throughout.

My second image I did on my counter top. I used a lot of orange items in order to get an image that I was happy with. Also, the shiny metals helped me get the softer edges on some of my items.
